Presentation

The Higher Institute of Medical Technologies of Tunis (ISTMT) is a state institution created in 2001 (Decree No. 1912 of 14 August 2001, OJ No. 68) of a Scientific and Technological nature. The ISTMT is under the tutelage of the University of Tunis El Manar - Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The purpose of the creation of the ISTMT is to train graduates in the field of Medical Technologies. The ISTMT's ambition is to provide medical sectors and bio-industries with high-level graduates who have acquired the foundations of a multi-skilled and therefore very quickly operational and easily adapt to the job market
Vision of the ISTMT:
Become a national reference in training and research in the field of medical technologies

  • Provide training that meets market requirements and developments: ISTMT provides Diploma courses technicians and specialists in trades meeting the real or potential needs of the market, in two areas: biomedical engineering and biotechnology.
  • Promoting research and development: Istmt has a doctoral training cycle and a research Laboratory in biophysics and medical technologies
  • Ensuring the quality of governance: the ISTMT is involved in the PHARE project and plans to implement a quality system
  • Ensuring the quality of student life, today there is the creation of new clubs, and sports association,
    Career Center (Organization of training sessions, Personal Development Activity and Contact Network) ...

Outlook of the ISTMT:

Over the next few years, the ISTMT proposes to:

  • Accueillir un cycle d’Ingénieur en Génie Biomédical et Lancer le programme de cette formation
  • To have a Business Incubator with the aim of consolidating the "Training-Employability" adequacy.
  • Support the project of setting up a doctoral school at the institute
  • Offer high level services in technology

The ISTMT is in the medical center of Greater Tunis (next to Charles Nicole Hospital in Tunis).

Open and evolving structure, the ISTMT develops privileged relations with the health sector and the regional, national and international industrial sector with which it has established a genuine partnership. Partnership agreements have already been signed.
